Effects
- Pregnancy

- Mother
- May lower blood pressure and cause flushing, headache, dizziness, swelling, or fast heart rate.
- Baby
- May cross the placenta; limited human data. Some reports note possible low birth weight or preterm birth, but this may reflect the underlying condition.

- 1st Trimester
- Human data are limited. Use only if your provider feels benefits outweigh risks.
- 2nd Trimester
- May be used when needed for blood pressure control. Provider monitoring is important.
- 3rd Trimester
